We welcome the European Commissions proposal to exempt plastic wrappings and straps from the 100% reuse targets of article 29(2) and (3) of Regulation (EU) 2025/40. This proposed exemption is needed from a technical, environmental and economic point of view. In fact, it correctly reflects the current lack of viable and sustainable reusable alternatives and the disproportionate adaption costs related to the packaging lines for the operators.
