EURAMET, the European Association of National Metrology Institutes, and the European Metrology Network for Safe and Sustainable Food (EMN Food) welcome the European Commissions initiative to develop implementing and delegated acts supporting Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste. Metrology can support robust equivalence frameworks through harmonised analytical methods, traceability requirements and internationally recognised verification approaches. These measures would help ensure that recycled-content claims are assessed with a comparable level of confidence regardless of origin.
