ICADA welcomes the Commissions initiative to harmonise registration and reporting formats for national producer registers under the PPWR. However, harmonised formats alone will not sufficiently reduce the administrative burden, particularly for SMEs operating in several Member States. ICADA therefore calls for a genuine once-only approach: producers should be able to submit company and technical packaging data once, allocate the relevant packaging quantities to the respective Member States, and have the information automatically transmitted to the national registers concerned.
