FSB supports the Commission’s objective of ensuring the EU’s tax framework is fit for purpose in the digital age. Our comments relate particularly to the issue of VAT registration in the EU. Under the terms of the new UK-EU trading relationship overcoming issues relating to VAT – and in particular requirements to register for VAT purposes in multiple EU Member States - are one of the biggest challenges facing UK small business exporters.
