The World Resources Institute (WRI) welcomes the opportunity to provide input on the call for evidence on environmental regulation. WRI has been following the design and implementation of environmental regulation in the EU for over a decade, in particular the discussions surrounding EU policies related to protecting and restoring forests such as the EU Deforestation Regulation. WRI notes with concern that this call for evidence has prompted many calls for weakening and delay of this regulation.
