European publishers are fully committed to minimising their supply chains contribution to global deforestation. Today, a vast majority of paper used to produce their books is certified. European publishers invest in technology to improve sales forecasts, thus optimising print runs and paper consumption, and the environmental impact of distribution. While publishers have worked hard to prepare for the EUDR, it has become clear that it imposes a disproportionate burden on players in the book supply chain.
