For the French Federation of Public Works (FNTP), the key points are as follows: Harmonising definitions and end-of-waste status (Articles 3 and 6 of Directive 2008/98/EC on waste) In France, criteria already govern the end-of-waste status for certain materials, while in Germany, these criteria vary greatly from region to region and often remain stricter or non-existent. It should be noted that the definition of waste may also be subject to interpretation with regard to the question of intention to discard.
