The Environmental Omnibus provides an important opportunity to introduce further simplification measures across EU environmental legislation, including in the revised Industrial Emissions Directive (IED). Without additional targeted simplifications, there is a significant risk that the revised framework will impose disproportionate administrative burdens on livestock farming, create legal uncertainty and undermine the competitiveness and production capacity of European agriculture.
